So i thought about starting some plants up early this year, i had a few sprout a few days back and ive been thinking about just throwing them in the window for a little less then a month since there is still a little snow on the ground and the temperature hasnt reached the best it could be.

The plants are getting around 5~6 hours of direct sunlight, what i wanted to know is will this deform or screw up my plants in any way shape or form, ive had people say it will screw your plants up and your just wasting your time. im a little poor at the moment and unable to setup a "grow room," so for the time being i thought i would just stick them in the window.

ill rep+ anyone who can help and give good advice, thanks:clap:

Hello there mr.cannabis, I have lots of experience with growing in the window sill. Uh ok, im from nova scotia, your in ontario, not much difference. Last year I started all of my seedlings in 16 oz cups in front of several of my windows. I started end of march and the only real factor I had was some cloudy days and what not where the sunlight didnt have much power to it, which caused a little stretch, so I had to uproot the plants and just bury it down in the dirt a bit deeper, covering the stem. Also the good thing about seedlings, it doesnt matter how short the day light hours are, because they dont get sexually mature for a month or two unlike clones. SO you can really take advantage of the free sunlight when you want to get started early. I would actually suggest start to germinate seeds now, stick them in the window, very simple and it works. hope that answered your questions, ask anymore if you want to, happy toking

I consider it kind of pointless. It's not going to get enough light to grow enough to make it worthwhile to start a month before they can go outside. They are just gonna stretch like hell. Can you get like 2-4 23w cfls? you could get all you need to make it worthwhile with around $20-$30.

4-6 23w cfls(about $8-10) 2-3 y splitters(around $1.00 to $2.00 each, so we'll say $5) a lightbar($5-6) 2-3 outlet to socket converters(about the same price as y splitters, we'll say $5 again) take the outlet to socket converters and put them in the lightbar, in an alternating pattern like Empty-Converter-Empty-Converter...well you get the point, as much as possible. Take your y splitters and screw them into the sockets, now screw the bulbs into the sockets. If you dont have a closet or any small cabinets(or anything similar) you should go to your local thrift stores or goodwill or somewhere like that. You should be able to find a cabinet for pretty cheap. all the price numbers i quoted above are if you go with 6 cfls instead of 4, it would be a bit cheaper then, but i highly suggest you go with six.

so, i have set up a little temporary "grow box" its not all that big but i only have one plant in it, its about a foot an a half tall and 3 feet wide, as retarted as this sounds the light is too big to fit in the box and i am unable to set up another "grow box." the plants are a few inches over the bulb, and being the amature that i am at growing i need to know if i HAVE to replace the current grow box with a larger one for the plants so they can grow without screwing up. please post some info im a total amature when it comes to indoor grows. let me now if you would like more info in exchange for some helpful advice, sorry if that didnt make sence i got some pretty crazy bud today :D

the plants will only be in the box for about a week untill the weather lightens up, just to let you guys know ;)

I'm happy to help but im a bit confused by the plant is a few inches over the lights? do you mean you dont have enough height or was it a typo and you meant to say you have the light a few inches over the plant but you cant fit it the lights the growbox? You can grow w/o a box, if thats the question. You just wont get the lighting the inside of the box would of reflected back. If you dont have a fan of some sort you should get one still, it is vital for your plants stem growth/strength, w/o airflow to make them stronger your plants going to have pathetic stems that cant support the weight of the vegitation they have. It's basically the same effect as the wind outside.
