growing with cfl

I have a 5x3 and 7 ft tall. I made a 9 bulb light bar. If I put ys in it would be 18. Iam 26 Watt bulbs. How many plants could I grow? I have 15 plants in veg don't know sex yet there three weeks old today. And about 8 in tall. Any advice would help. I would post pictures but don't know how LOL.

​what are your temps in the room with lights on and off, what ph number are you running at.......lots you need to tell us first lol...its all easy ans soon you will have all the numbers you need ;-)

your gonna have to have alot more then 18 cfls for anywhere near 17 plants especially if u want to flower....cfls are really more of a micro thing 1 or 2 plants..

not to mention that they get just as hot as an hps or mh bulb. and after u buy the bulbs and spliters and wire and everything else and make a gheto reflector.......you could have bought an hps system. i learned this all the hard way

Where can I buy hps for 50 bucks because that's all I have in to it and its like the ones on cflgrowlights.com. thanks for comment. Have you use cfls?

Depending on how efficient you are with that light, you could probably pull off 3 plants in 2 gallon pots if you LST'd them (or pinch em down, whatever your flavor) and kept them 8 inches tall or so until flower.

You don't really want all your light from one source like that with CFL.. you'd be better off breaking it into 'a bulb here and a bulb there' rather than one big blob of bulbs up top..

Just thoughts..

I wish I could put up.pictures because its bright in there. And really only a couple plants.

seriously 3 plants max under 500ish watts of cfl? lol i go by 100 for the first plant then 75 more each other plant

100 for the first plant, like as a base, then 75 more each plant after that because the bulbs spread over more than just one plant so like, if you are growing one plant 100 bare minimum, then if you want to add another plant throw 75 more watts in there and you are gravy, then 250 for 3 etc, at least thats how i always do it and i always get great results, but like any cfl grow you should top early and keep small there isnt much light penetration.

I've seen people online with same amount of lights growing more then three plants. Iam new but iam running over 100 Watts per square ft. And what I read 60 to 70 is ideal. Iam I wrong?

I payed 30$ for a 150 watt hps sun system off craiglist...and there 50$ shipped off eBay . I see 400 watt systems sell for 100$ on craiglist. That's double or price but opens all kinds of possibilities for an extra 50$
