Hi

I have been thinking about growing my own cannabis plant for the first time and have heard that a cheap alternative to the hpl is compact fluorescent lighting.

Anyone give me any tips for my first grow?

Thanx fellow tokers!

Buy lots of them. You want them around 6500K(blueish light) for vegging and 2700K(reddish light) for flowering.

Ok nice one, I am guessing I can get these from any hardware store?

What would you recomend as a good set up would be for a indoor grow?

Yes you can get them from pretty much any hardware store or even wal-mart/zellars there are many stores that sell these.

As for the set up you want to think small. Have a look and see what some others are doing, then you can figure out what direction you would like to go.

Cheers for the info. what kind of nutes do u need to feed the plant? and do i need to reguarly test the ph in the soil?

Im gettin nicely baked tonight

This is a quote from Marijuana Horticulture the Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible 2006, "Growers use HID lamps to replace sunlight indoors and grow outstanding cannabis. High intensity discharge lamps out-preform all other lamps in their lumens-per-watt efficiency, spectral balance, and brilliance. The spectrum and brilliance of HID's help growers replicate growth responses induced in cannabis by natural sunlight.

Watt for watt, a 600-watt HPS produces seven precent more light then the 1000-watt HPS. The pulse start metal halides are also brighter and more efficient than their predecessors.
