Hi everyone, i just got myself 10 Super Lemon Haze Feminized seeds from a friend, as i let him send the seeds to my PO Box, so he gave me 10.
My question is i am thinking about purchasing two GL80's, one for vegging, and one for flowering.
For this size tent is a 600WATT HPS to much? or should i use a 400WATT?
I will be growing in organic soil, 4, five gallon buckets in the tent.
Here is a link to the setup

My real dilema is how to setup the fan and filter? For my light i am going to use either the 400 or 600 WATT Magnum XXXL Reflector and Lumatek Ballast.
Should i take my air inline and run it through the light, and have it exit through the other side of the light through the carbon filter?
Or should i just run fresh air fan inline through one duck, and have the exhaust fan on the top of the tent running through the carbon filter?
Sorry guys but this is all new to me.
But regardless i will need two fans correct, one for pulling fresh air in, and the other pulling the hot air out through the carbon filter?

Thanks to all who reply, being a newbie is tough!

I have a 2' x 3' cab and use a 400, I feel it is more than adequate. Anything over 50 watts per square foot is overkill without CO2.

If you are using an air cooled hood, the ideal is to have a fan pushing cool air in a duct, through the light, then out an exhaust. That way the duct has positive pressure in the cab, so any leaks in your hood or ducts blow into your cab, rather than sucking in smell. You then run another fan hooked up to the carbon filter and exhaust out, with air being supplied through a passive intake hole.

I only use 1 fan, and my setup goes carbon filter to fan, fan blows through light, then out exhaust. It is working fine so far, although I still pick up a little smell.

whats up with the updates. The 4 buckects look perfect for my tent. but im going with either four in 3 gal with airpots or 6 3 gal air pots with a 600w. vegging now under a 100w cfl. sparkabowl like your setup with exhaust will be imitating for the gl80. think its a efficient way to limit wasted power.
