Guatemala and acapulco gold

How would theese two landraces compare, do they have similarities as long as they are central americal landraces?

Nothing, I mean NOTHING, compares to Acapulco Gold, but finding that actual strain is the real problem...

There is only 800 miles between Acapulco and Guatemala. It's possible that there are many similarities. It's also possible that what was called Acapulco Gold was cannabis not even grown in Acapulco but came from the surrounding areas and was just coined Acapulco Gold because that's where it was being distributed from. Acapulco was right on the ocean with a bay and easy access for smugglers. The actual cannabis could have come from all around. Who knows?

Indeed, Ed Rosenthal once described Michoacan sativa as "comes on quick, intense, soaring".

It's pretty spot-on for AG.

Up here in the states we couldn't be sure where it actually came from. I remember Acapulco Gold commanding a higher price so I'm sure there were unscrupulous characters using the name to sell for a higher price. I sure would like come across some authentic genetics from that region. I have the Guatemala and Honduras from ACE though. I sure miss those sativas from the 70's

Hello
I obtained some Acapulco Gold seeds from MMS last year that are landrace. I had already started Barney’s Farm AG and had no room for the MMS AG.
The Barney’s Farm was pretty good but a typical hybrid, by that I mean loads of leaves and heavy buds. The smoke is good but the legend of true Acapulco Gold stayed on my mind.
I started 4 seeds from MMS and ended up with one female. as I am growing this for smoke I concentrated on her. ( Next grow is for seed!)
A couple of things that are apparent with this plant is that there is no odor from her at all.
She is very pest and disease resistant and seems to take anything I throw at her. I grow in DWC bubble ponics and am in week 5 of flower so maybe 1/3 to half way there?? I am prepared for the long flower so I will wait and let you all know how it goes!
