Hey guys, so i'm a complete noob when it comes to growing. but i am looking to begin fairly soon. so anyway, I was wondering if you had to mix soil yourself for it to work? budget is tight at the moment but I was browsing the internet and came across this on ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5LT-PEAT-...498089?hash=item3cd8182269:g:wngAAOxyzi9SemjG

can anyone tell me if that would be ok to plant my seeds in or someone please direct me in the right way. Thanks.

Ok so u want an inexpensive soil mix? Everything I'm about too tell you, you can buy at lowes or Home Depot.
1x 3cubic ft peatmoss bail- $10
3x bag of perlite - $4.77 ea.
1x bag of vermiculite- $4.54
Mix 50% peatmoss n 40% perlite n 10% veiculite. What I mentioned will make about 40 gal of mixed soil. And cost less than 35 bucks. I use the same mix

What he said, but I also use mushroom compost, cow manure compost, chicken manure compost and a good potting soil. And add lime and Epsom salts.
