Gun Section

A controversial topics - especially now.

But people use them - for security, hunting, fun, whatever. There is no reason that RIU members shouldn't be able to talk about their latest target pistol or whatever.

I think a section (maybe in Sports) for gun "enthusiasts" might help keep the controversy in Politics and the uncluttered gun talk elsewhere without curtailing it.

While I agree members should be able to talk about firearms on here and maybe even have their own section, I do not agree it's a great idea. Even dealing with legal rec or medical grows, possession of a firearm in that environment is mostly illegal, not to mention the majority on here who are illegal growers, where possession of firearms with marijuana in that circumstance would be a major crime enhancement. I'm a gun guy but I'm sure not going to post what guns I may or may not have or any other detailed info related to firearms. One of my favorite websites and a place I contribute on, TTAG(thetruthaboutguns) has a section called "I am a gun owner" and it's a thread where people pose with pictures of themselves with their favorite firearm, although cute and cool, I would never under any circumstance pose in a picture with one of my guns on a site the FBI monitors. That's why I'm amazed there is a similar picture thread on here. Also, a gun section will attract so much controversy, hate threads, fake threads and trolls. It's all free speech to me so I'm for that, but IMO I don't think weed and guns is a good mix.
