guy reads my power and no1 elses

i live in australia. a power guy just came to mine in a car took my power box reading and drove off and did no1 elses .seems a bit wierd .any1 else had that happen

if you're under 5kw, i doubt very seriously you'd EVER have any type of problem. keep in mind, most window ac units are 600+w, all space heaters are 1500w+, and a dryer uses the equivalent of 2kw for 12 hours on just one cycle.

unless you have a HUGE spike, don't worry. if you have any questions asked, tell them you have a reptile with light/heater on a timer, or a fish tank. :p

also remember that the only time you have issues with the power company is when you don't pay your bill or steal power ;)

the bill has been the same for 8 years
now doubled seems a bit wierd though 3 fans light 600w and also 2 new computers always running

that's the answer, and the main cause right there. the pc's are using approximately 6x more power than your grow :p.

blame it on the techno gear! "fuck off, i play video games!"

i always run a lot of electricity before a big grow then turn off all the computers/tv's w/e i have running when my lights are on

you think i should ditch the plants only got 2 not doing to well n leave the setup going for week or 2
but it was a little weird the power guy seemed a bit suss

wen my lights n everything running i usually have 4 comps also running .if it was you would u just ditch the plants and leave running and see if i get a visit from the boys in blue

Remember that the Electric company is a private "for profit" company. It would not be in their own best interest to report you, even if they suspected......

You may be reading more into this than is actually there, but it is good to be observant of the situation. Are you certain he was from the power company?

Is it possible he has come before and you haven't notice? How do they usually read your power? Some places in the states will estimate your power usage for one month and only read the meter ever other...stupidest thing I've ever heard as they end up WAY over/under charging...but it could be something along those lines.

As others said, the power company doesn't really care how much of their product you use...they just want you to keep using it. And paying for it.:leaf:

It could be a whole shitoad of reasons...you can't assume that they're cracking down on your grow...relax. If they see a spike they'll check it to make sure that everything is ok it keeps them from having to deal with an unhappy customer. We installed a pool heater and the guy came by and checked up on us and did a full walk around of the house and shed looking for any outside lines before he even knocked on the door. I dont think you need to worry...When you flower try to keep your ac units and PC's off while your lights are running. This will keep any patterns from timers from showing up.

And do you need those CPU's running 24/7? I mean, 4 CPU's seems like a bit of overkill, but I don't know what you do for a living...

thanks for the replys guys much appreciated . well 4 pcs 2 on all day .we usually have 4 running at 1ce for a few hours .mum on 1 n 3 used for game laning lol.i mean it only doubled wat if i started to use air con .never have in 6 years n wat if i bought a spa .we dont even have a drier
