Hanging Roots Question

How much space do you leave between the hanging roots and the water level. By that I mean are there a few inches between the bottom of the pot and where the roots hit the water.

mine hang right in my water lvl is flush with the basket

yea me too but i get crazy growth spurts when the roots have 5 inches of airspace, like when i get lazy and let my rez get low.
