Hanging your buds....

Hey guys i am ready to cut my girls down tomm and need some advice on hanging my buds. I have mostly main colas and was wondering if i should detach it from the stem or hang the whole colas upside down. If you want to see pics of my girls go to my grow journal(in sig). Also, I am wondering if anyone has any ideas about a DIY bud drying box that is really really cheap to make or just household items you can use to make one. Also do you think it would be effecient enough to trim your girls with sharp household sciccors? Any and all advice would help.
thanks.......

bascially the best way to dry is to trim just the shade leaves off..hang the whole plant upside down until its dry enough to where the steam snaps..dont put the fan directly on the plant..and then put in paper bag for a day then jar it for the cure..you want a small fan to keep that air circulating..but if you want it to dry faster kinda of like the commercail weed you buy then yeah cut it into steams and hang them seperate

quickee's pretty right there, i don't disagree but this is an alternative (and this is how i do it)
chop each cola off, and stringing them up individually. from my experience this makes it go a bit quicker. home made drying box is simple, get a large-ish cardboard box (cardboard is good cause it absorbs moisture from the surrounding enviroonment) and put a few lengths of string across the top of it. hang each cola on the string and let them do their thing til the stems snap instead of bend. you do want some air circulation in there too, i use one of those tiny hand held fans stuck to the edge, and as quickee said you don't want it directly on the buds. i cut a few ventilaion holes in the box so it's got some fresh air intake too. this all is supposed to prevent mold and probably speeds the process up a bit, can't tell you for sure that that's the best way, it's just how i do it.

and yeah unless someone has other info, i'm pretty certain normal scissors are fine...that's what i use and it's never hassled me

enjoy your harvest bro!

yeah you could trim your buds with your bare hands if it came down to it... scissors are fine but the spriing loaded, stub nosed scissors are my personal favourite! What both these guys have said is true and on the button. Many ways to do it but they all work on the same principle.. GL

get a pair of fiskars spring loaded scissors, the resin sticks to the blades and it is a pain in the ass to open them without the spring assist.
