Hang in Dank! I started on the patches, lasted about a week and then said the hell with them and just quit. After smoking 2-3 packs a day for 35 years, I just walked away. I'll tell you how, you can laugh if you want but here's how: I said "lord, I've Been poisoning myself for 35 years and want to quit so here's the deal, I'm giving my smoking habit to you". After that, I never had the urge to smoke again. Been almost 11 years and I've never wanted another cigarrette. Might work for you, might not. The patches I guess got rid of the nicotine addiction and God got rid of the mental addiction. All depends on your state of mind. Best of lucK, I'm pulling for you, Nasty habit nocotine, you'll never know how nasty untill you quit! Good luck and God Bless!

I still smoke tobacco... about 3-4 cigarettes a day. I mix it with my weed... I smoke 15-20 joints every day, or 4-5g of cannabis.

Lungs of steel, you can do that when you're young, the body is an amazing thing, the abuse it will take is phenominal. The pity is, when you get old, it all comes back to haunt you. No chastisement intended, for when I was a youngster I certainly gave mine it's share of abuse, and now I'm seeing the results. Man you must have a tolerance of thc built up, too bad I couldn't send you some of my buds, I think the smell would give them away though as My whole house smells like a skunk has moved in!

Some people are stronger, and can ward off ill effects, others are not so lucky! US cigarettes have toxins added to make them more addictive.

The toxin is ammonia... John Grisham wrote a book about this subject, although I can't think of the name of the book. The book was about the big tobacco companies adding extra ammonia to cigarettes to get people addicted more quickly (which is also the reason crack is so addictive btw). There are regulations in place now, although I couldn't tell you what they are.

Oh, and med'... ever seen Walker, Texas Ranger... starring Chuck Norris? I hapeened to be watching about ten minutes of this drivel the other day when a scene came that made me think of you.

Chuck was tied up... verging on death... his fight was gone, and his will to live had virtually fell out of his arse. As (Chuck in the film is half Indian) he is about to die... suddenly before him appeared tribesmen dancing and chanting, and then in the middle of it all appeared the thunderbird. It flew towards him and then off into the sky, then his dead Indian father appears and tells him not to give up... it's not your time... Very 70's.

Great, Just remember at first, It's one day at a time, It will get easier, trust me, you're still kicking the nicotine addiction, when thats gone, all that's left is the mental, I'm not saying that's easy, but easier. Best of luck.

Dankdude,

I have respect for you man. I've been smoking cigarettes since I was 13 or 12 and I'm turning 20 January 19th. So I've been smoking a loooong time... I wish I could stop like you... It's a bad habit. I don't want to quit weed just cigarettes. BUT there's always that I'm so used to smoking now it's REALLY hard. So much stress and boredum and all that stuff. If I had the money I'd get the patch but I usually end up spending my money on weed..... ha. I missed a chance to get free patches recently there was a radio station that had an ad from some company giving away free patches in this area.. and I'm kickin myself for not doing it.

But man I wish you nothing but the best on your quit keep strong it will be worth it in the long run.. When I worked at wal-mart in '05 one of my co-workers had a fiancee that also worked there... They were in their mid to late 30's REALLY cool people but the lady actually calculated that if her and Rob (fiancee) quit they would save 4,000 some dollars a year. That's 2,000 per person a year...

Good luck man I hope everything works for you.
