Hard water

I am about 12 days from seed in my first grow with 8 seedlings developing their second set of leaves. Everyday I seem to find new potential problems to worry and obsess about.:!: Today it's water. My well water tests at ph 7. I will get some ph down to bring it to 6.3, so that's no problem. I know from washing dishes that my water is pretty hard. I worry it could block nutrients. Would anyone recommend a particular water testing kit? I know about reverse osmosis, which I was hoping to wait on. Do Brita filters or anything comparable help? After spending plenty of money getting a room set up, I was hoping to wait until Spring to call the plumber. Thanks in advance for the help.

Actually hard water is good for your plants. So much nutrients in your water that the plants need. Get ph up and down and if you'd like a ppm meter to test your waters purity level and adjust your nutes to it. If you'd like, there's a thread with amazing info on water and choosing water and all that good stuff.

I( just dont use hard water right before harvest, I always use rain water or R/o. so my plants dont suck up the crap in the water. But my water is HARD and yellow.

I dont like any extra stuff in my meds.

I have a Rain barell (wheel barrow) that collects rain water, but now is a block of ice with snow on it. I am just going to melt it down, I dont think there would be any problem with snow/ice as long as it is CLEAN
