harvest but only dry 4 weeks later?

  • hey guys,

    i've run into a problem with my grow. my plants will be ready to harvest in a couple of days but i'm leaving the country for 4 weeks. do you think i would be able to harvest the buds and keep them in air tight containers for 4 weeks until i come back and then dry and harvest them properly? i've never encountered this problem before.

    what do you guys think?​

  • i guess i could leave it to dry while im gone, but i can only dry outdoors. the weather is generally consistent but it could still rain so im worries the buds might get ruined. i just thought that storing them inside would be less risky than leaving them outdoors​

Leave them in a brown paper bag. Harvest right before u leave. Leave the brown bag in ur dark closet. This I think would be ur best option. Maybe the drying prossess takes 10 days and then the rest, u will have to hold ur breath!

You don't want ur whole harvest in one bag. Just cover the bottom of the bag. Some will layer the bag with newspaper clippings then bud, then some clippings, then bud. Several ways to do it. Look it up.

Your only chance is to dry them at least a few days and then jar them with humidipaks. 62%. If you dry fast it hurts the weed either way so if u can't do a week dry do a dry as long as possible and jar with humidipaks which should keep RH near 62%. Once you commit to cure for 4 weeks you can't just put them in dry and expect a miracle. In the past I've jarred too early fro a day then dried again but not 4 weeks, it wouldn't work.

I'd say this is a good idea only if the dry area is a constant high RH. Unless this person has all huge buds and a high RH dry room there is no way 4 weeks of unattended bud will be a good thing. But it may be a better option than I gave.

People have to plan ahead. When you decide to grow you can't have unexpected shit coming up taking you away from your grow fro more than a few days.
