its the trichomes you are harvesting get a 16x to a 30x microscope have a look at the trichomes on the plant you are looking for cloudy to light amber trichomes then its time. good luck. Peace

Ya but seriously I think it's more important about the size of the heads on crystals compared to the neck of it. I might be wrong but I think the heads should be approx 3x the size. Also showing they should be at a overall about 1/2 cloudiness or turning a brownish colour. Get a magnify glass it will be well worth the $15-$30.

I'm with Bear's Blunts - trichomes are the way to go to determine peak harvest time.

one of the biggest new grower mistakes (along with overwatering and overnuting) is harvesting too early. can't blame us though! they are so damn tempting!

They give you an idea, sometimes. But its not very accurate. Viewing the trichs under a magnifier of some sort is much better way to go.
ya im with you its the only way to tell for shore. or if the red hairs are falling off that could mean its ready to. good luck.

If everything comes together then the trichomes will be looking right AND the pistils will be turning brown/orange. But as we know - everything coming together doesn't always happen so i would pick trichome development over pistil color but your mileage may vary.
