Doesn't even have to be 3 days.. Just tell the outside feels dry.. then mason jars burping them around every 13 hours.. or so.. only for a few minutes at a time.. that is how i do it, but there are many diff styles.. mine works fine though.

Yes you need to make sure that the stems can be snapped by bending them, that's how you know that its time to put them into mason jars.
When you put them inside the mason jars you need to burp them twice everyday, to let out excess moisture that still lingers in the buds.
If you fail to burp them, mold will begin to form and render the buds un-smokable. (or rather unpleasant)

Room temperature should be fine when drying them, just make sure its not too hot for them, or too cold. (not even sure if it makes that much of a difference)

Silica gel packets are your best friend to remove moisture...and for the amount of time you keep it in the jars, depends on who you ask. Some say 2 weeks, some say 6 months...I'd say when it tastes right :D

for best results do NOT dry them until stem snaps if you are going to cure them in mason jars
... if the stem snaps you've waited too long.

dry them until the stem is Bendable then into mason jars

personally i would Not put silica gel packets in my weed nor anything else let nature do its thing

1. the stem should crack, NOT break.. if it breaks then too much moisture has already left the plant
2. you burp the mason jars in cycles, IDEALLY every 12 hours, leaving the lids for 2 hours - you do this for a good 5-7 days. then you no longer have to burp the jars, you can just leave the lid on
3. i dont know anything about silica gel packets, so i wont pretend like i do, so hopefully someone else will help you out. but you dont want to remove ALL the moisture in the buds, (thats why you let the stem crack but not break, because you still want some moisture to be in there)

I agree with almost everything you say here except the nature part. In nature buds are not cured. That is somthing us humans did ourselves. Nature does not have mason jars that the ripe nugs just fall into and naturally get burped twice a day. Lol when growing we are playing gods to the plant. Its nature is whatever you give it.

U guys make me laugh. I will say I don't know enough about curing to give input but I can say is continue to do your research. Kno that no one opinion is wrong and what works 4 one may work for another. Thanks thats all my input.

Actually that depends on the size and density of a bud. I have had large thick dense buds where the stem was so dry that it cracked in two when bent, but once in jars before long the buds were still almost to moist to be in jars. There was still a great deal of inner moisture in the large thick dense buds even though the stems were dry to the point of being brittle.

With smaller less dense buds it would be a mistake to dry until the stem would break in two when bent. Those buds would be to dry.

There really is no one single across the board way of judging if a bud is ready to jar going by stem dryness. What is right for one bud could be very wrong for another.
