Has Anyone Seen Stipules Like This?

This is a friend's plant and I've been helping him get things in order (somewhat) with his grow.

He had it in a closet with a small fan just blowing at the plant, very little air movement/exchange. Temperatures were in the 80s constantly. He also had his led panel too close to his plant. Other than that, FFOF soil and spring water from the store.



Anybody know what would cause this?

i think that's just genetic. never heard of any kind of stress that would cause stipules to grow more. i personally wouldn't worry about it, but it couldn't hurt to keep a close eye on it when it starts to flower

It was flipped into flowering a few days ago, so I guess we'll see soon enough.

Just seems weird and the plant overall looks a little stressed still. Plus I'd just never seen anything like it even in pictures online.
