Has anyone started a seedling outside in july?

I started 2 outside about 3 weeks ago but I decided I wanted to plant a few more. I start them so late simply because I can’t have huge plants. I realize planting them late reduces yield, I’m just curious if starting a seedling in july will yield atleast a oz. The way I see it anything over 1oz is worth it. Photo seeds as well, not a huge fan of autos. Have any of you planted seeds in Early july? What were your yields like? I’m in the midwest as well.

Your results will depend on lots of things. Seedlings usually need 6-8 weeks before they are capable of beginning to flower, so not impossible if you go for it now, but that window is closing.

Another alternative might be putting out some clones, since seedlings usually have to go thru a period of time prior to flowering etc, and clones are "as old as the mother" from a flowering perspective. It's a good way to test hardiness of a strain, for future years by putting out several clones of different varieties to see how they weather the elements. If you keep an identical clone indoors, and like the outdoor results...make feminized seeds for next year etc.

Yes. Currently germinating some rn just for extra flavors. Also have clones going out too

I also have a few seedlings out in the sun.

Couple summers ago I was late getting the ladies I'm the ground, didn't get the in dirt till July 1. The finished late October here in the Northeast.

Last year I started in July outdoors doing a hydroponic grow, for the same reasons as you said, and the largest of my plants yielded 218 grams. Had 3 plants and one turned out to be an autoflower variety that only got 35g, other plant got 145g. This year I started a couple of weeks earlier hoping for similar results. Keep on growing Lightitsmokeit402. I live in Florida by the way.

I do a few late season plants every year. I have to keep plant size down, and this is what has worked best for me. Most years I keep planting all the way through summer, using the moon signs. So each round is a month behind the last. The June and July planted seeds get about chest high and yield a couple of three ounces, with later ones about waist high with one to two ounce yield. Really late planted stuff gets about knee high, and yields an ounce or less. I do most of my seed making with late plants.

i have one outside in a one gallon five weeks from seed. not as vigorous as my inside plants for height. will up pot to a 5 gal or finish her in veg garden. just like having abilty to give her more sun in the day than the garden spot could give.

just curious what kind of yield you ended up with and how many hours of sun did you get? im not worried how my project goes or what the yield will be im just pumped i can grow outside legally for first time.

This one pushed the roof on a 8ft high greenhouse and had to bend her over. She was planted at about 12-16 inches tall on july 10th. Didnt finish till november i think. Bahia blackhead. Got about a pound +/-

Thanks. Sativa dom hybrids are good to put out this time of year if looking for yeild. Alot of them, like the seawarp and seahash were early finishers in early-mid september. Dense buds too. Strain selection is key comin in the season late.
