I start writing.
Again.

This will be my third season of growing.
Hopefully, the learning process will continue and my grow will be a little bit better every year.
Need to decide what to grow - thinking of all Auto Fems this time.

Please follow along. Any / all help is greatly appreciated!

Really itching to start growing again. Harvested my last grow in October, so it’s been a while. Didn’t want to try a winter tent grow to ensure my back had healed enough from surgery.

Far too much work to move the grow tent into the basement right now, so leaving the tent set up in the same upstairs room as last year. Pretty annoyed that my 4x4 Vivosun grow tent had an issue w. one of the zippers after all of one grow! Really hoping I can fix it, cause at the moment, I can’t open one of the side walls. These things should really last more than a couple months before being messed up!

Going with four Auto Fems this grow. Trying all Autos this time because I’ve been hit with Bud Rot the last two seasons due to the late season weather in N. Virginia. Hoping to get two cycles of Autos this season.

I’m going to grow:
-Blue Dream Auto Fem (Sativa Dominant) from Greenpoint Seeds
-CBD Auto Fem (1:1 CBD to THC) from Phoenix Seed Bank / The Vault
-Sugar Granddaddy (Indica Dominant) Auto Fem from Walipini Seed Bank
-White Widow Auto Fem (Indica Dominant) from Green House Seeds / ILGM

FINALLY cleaned out my grow tent and wiped it down w. Clorox wipes.

Put my 4 seeds in shot glasses of distilled water. Just checked my last grow journal – I’m starting w/in two days of when I started last year.

And so it begins…

No tap roots yet.

No tap roots yet. Placed seeds in moist paper towels in baggies. Placed them under a sink where it should be pretty warm. Hopefully, I’ll see tap roots Soon!!

The Blue Dream & Sugar Granddaddy both have tap roots showing.

Not sure if I should be concerned about the other two seeds yet.
Would really suck if they end up being duds!

Theres a flap of material on each side of the zipper and it can get caught in the zip stopping it from sliding , my vivosun tent does the same thing .
I was hoping this was the case, but it looks like it's some kind of kink in the actual zipper teeth. Flaps are totally clear from the zipper.

Maybe running over it with a heat gun a little to soften it a little then try closing it ,if it closes run a damp cloth over zipper to set it in place .
Cant hurt if its already stuffed ,it may fix it .

Thanks! I'll see if I can find a heat gun and give this a try. Going to keep messing w. it and hopefully get it working again.

In conjunction with Absorber's advice, a little 3 in 1 oil or a drop or 2 of wd 40(i mean a drop or two, stinky stuff for plants to breathe) on the pull mechanism might help if the zipper teeth are a little goofy. I too have to be mindful when zipping up because the flaps to seal out light get caught once, twice, then they've manipulated into almost always getting caught, so I have to run my index finger between the flap and the zipper as my thumb and middle zip up.

EDIT: Also, I know some people shy away from letting seeds float in water beyond 24hrs, but I've done 48-72 with no ill affects and inch long tap roots FYI bongsmilie
