Hello rollitup stoners,

I am currently doing my first soil grow. I have six plants with a 600w metal halide. It is being air cooled by a six inch fan and an additional 4 inch fan as an exhaust vent. I also have an oscillating fan 24/7 with passive air intake.I am using fox farm ocean potting soil with no nutes yet. As far as the plants health they look in good shape. The only thing that is bothering me is that they all have yellow tips from top to bottom. I cant seem to find out what the problem is. I use to water everyday but now i started watering every other day to make sure soil is dry. I have attached pictures so you guys can see for yourself and comment.

Temps range from 78 to 84 and humidity from 30 to 45.

Thanks for your help you guys I really appreciate it. Peace

Doesn't look that bad to me, I think you're worrying too much, keep an eye on them to make sure it doesn't spread, if the whole leaf turns yellow I'd say may be N deficiendy.

The tips indicate early nute overdose and that is normal with your medium due to it being nute heavy at first. Keep going it will be fine. The nitrogen causes that and is the most quickly expended element we use.

Did you start the seeds in that same soil?? Did you recently transplant into the containers in the pics?

I can guarantee 100% that you are getting nutrient burn. Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil has nutrients already in it and can burn small plants. It's not too bad though, just water with plain cal-mag water until they get a little bigger and then slowly start feeding with weak nutrients and slowly bump it up as they can handle it. You normally see this kind of nute burn during flowering when you are pushing your plants to their limits.

YEP....thats exactly what is happening....but its not serious...the plants will aclimate to it soon and then they will be fine. I like to start my seeds in FF Happy Frog....its quite mild to start seeds and get them into 5-6 inch seedlings.....then I move them into FFOF for an extended period of time for additional veg time before they go into the flower stage and into thier final pot/transplant. These plants actually look really healthy....!!

If everyone who posted help for plants had pics like yours there would be no assistance to offer except looks good...

I could throw some pics on here to show you what awesome healthy plants look like but I won't be at my room for a day or 2. I just got some Girl Scout Cookies, Lemon Kush, and Blue OG seeds and popped them yesterday. I'm currently growing Northern Lights #5 and Blue Widow. I have both in flower and some are just starting week 5. They are both excellent strains and produce well. 9 week flower times for both is what I do. I even make BHO with both strains and it turns out amazing. Made some shatter from trim a few days ago and it is very good.
