Heat in Grow Cabinet. What next?

I have a grow cabinet from target. It is 69x26x18. I have a 4inch duct going into the bottom and a 4inch duct coming out the top. The top has an inline fan on it that flows 80 CFM. I am using a 400w HPS.

Yet, when I shut the doors it still is 84F! Do I need to install an intake fan, or get a smaller light?

2nd exhaust on the same line?
different hole new fan?

What about an intake fan...this is in my closet...so Im trying to make it look as normal as possible

Also, my hood is relatively tight in the cabinet. But my exhuast is above the light. Maybe if I move it down below the light it would help?

No, I would like to look into getting one of those. Its holding at 82F right now. I may try putting it below and see what it does

82 is not too bad at all really. and you can defenitely improve on that with some tweaking. I use bathroom exhaust fans from homedepot, about $12.00 only.

Ok the final stats are in. 87F and 48% humidity. This is on a 80CFM fan.

Im contemplating going to home depot and getting a 6inch or 8 inch inline fan. (The 6 inch moves 160CFM) Do you think doubling the amount of air going down will bring it down 7F degrees?

Well the fan isnt helping a lot. Already up to 84F. Im venting right out of the cabinet into the closet. But intaking air near the middle of the room. I have the 8inch vent and 4inch intake. Still 84F. I think I need to vent the air elsewhere.:neutral:

Does it matter that my cabinet is not sealed at all? There are some big slits in it and its venting into the closet it sits. I think I need to vent the air to the room somehow. But I can't leave my closet door open

What about having a oscillating fan in there as well? I'm sure that'll bring the temp down a few degrees?

8 Inch Inline Fan Vent
4 Inch Inline Fan Intake
12 Inch Oscillating Fan
and a Humidfier because the humdity is only 30%

Yet, its still 84F:evil:

Well it may have been that the light was blocking the fan a little too much. I just took off one side of the light and its hanging at a 60 degree angle, but the temp is already down to 82F and dropping.

Well the thermometer still in the cabinet says 84F....but I bought one of those indoor/outdoor thermometers with a cable. The new one says 76F!!!

A third meat thermometer is hard to read but looks to read 79F.

Which to go with!!!????? Id say the new one that says 76F because that would make me happy lol

Yup, go with the new one with the cable. Trust me...I had THE EXACT same experience. Man, was I happy to know that the first thermo I was using was a piece of crap.
