Heat stress, Mag deficiency, or underwatering. Help please.

My baby is 12 days from sprouting now and her leaves look good other than them kind of "taco-ing" upwards. Do I have a problem or am I just being paranoid?

Using Nutrifield Coco Coir, RO water + CNS17 Coco Grow (ph at 5.8 after mixing). Hand watering. So far only using two 26w Daylight bulbs. Just took down the mylar and painting flat white. Mylar was done improper and had pockets of heat. Temps ranging from 85-90 degrees F, and the plant is Tangerine Dream (bagseed, not purchase from Barney's).

It's Coco Coir. The plant is still growing good at 14 days now it's just folding up on most of the foliage. I think it's heat stress. Temps keep rising to about 91.

go easy on the botanicare, only use a week solution, with ec of less than 0.5 for a week or so and not every watering, and slowly up it over the next three weeks

I think it's heat stress too.
You are correct about the ph Krants. In COCO your ph should be 5.8 - 6.0.
Don't let the coco dry out. Water it with a 30% runoff and water again when half of the water weight is gone.
Yes you can start upping your nutes.
Looks pretty good so far. Good luck :peace:

btw Krants,
You should be adding calmag with your nutes in coco. And do not water without nutes. Coco needs it every time....especially at this stage.
Also enzymes are very helpful in coco...like cannazym.
I started with the CNS 17 and it works very well but I found it left a lot of residue. So it's important to get a good runoff when you water.

cns17 npk is 1-5-4, you can use it full strength every other watering, but it has super low nitrogen, you need to get some more nutes so you can make a balanced mix like 6-6-6 every other watering. its gonna show N deficiency soon enough with only cns17.

CNS17 grow formula is 3-1-2
CNS bloom is 2-2-3
maybe you are talking about "CNS17 Ripe". It is very low in N and only good for flowering. In fact I preferred the bloom for all of the flowering cycle.
I used CNS for several grows and it had a good balance.....just a little dirty.

Thank you all for the help. Is Cal-Mag necessary when using CNS17 Grow? I plan on skipping bloom and using Ripe for flowering.

I also make sure I get 25%-30% runoff each time. Here is an updated shot. I got the temps down to 82 with the door off the box :/.day14.jpg

Looks like it is OK on the nitrogen for now. Lay off the food until the second set of true leaves.. or keep it at 1/4 strength....

The heat is too much.. Also, are you measuring air temperature or leaf temperature? If your air is 90, what is the leaf temp? Too much, I bet..

Yeh, you will need it in coco. When using full strength nutes try 2-5ml per gal. This is especially important with RO water.
RIPE is pretty radical stuff. You will get a lot more yellowing than with Bloom. I tried Ripe 2 ways. ( Botanicare has 2 different schedules for it) The first way was to go straight to Ripe from Grow. I had to go back to mixing in Grow for the extra nitrogen.
The other way was to use it the final 2 weeks. IMO it worked much better for that.
However you use it, keep some of the Grow on hand to mix if you need to. :peace:
