heat

I've been having problems with temperatures lately, as I have added a new light into the mix. Right now I'm running 4 1000w MH, which are switchable to HPS, also I'm running 1 400w metal halide. My temperatures have been getting to about 92 degrees for a while, as I did not have the 4 1000w vented. Upon buying the ducting/inline fans to do the job. I got my room temperature, the thermometer is at the door, to about 84 degrees. The inside temperature, the thing with the cord on it was in between pots, was about 82 degrees. I for some reason decided to put the temperature thing, inside the pot next to my plant, to see what temperature my actually plant/soil was getting to. After a good hour of leaving it there, so the temperature would be accurate, it read 93 degrees. As far as I know, this is almost too high for growth. Any ideas on how to lower temperatures at plant level? My 1000w lights are glass sealed, and have 6" duct adapters for ventilation, in which I have 6x4 reducer on each, and 2 inline fans on each side of each light, 1 blowing, 1 sucking. The 400w isn't set up for ventilation and has no glass.

Do you have anywhere for air inside your grow room to escape? I had a weird hole already in my closet ceiling so i put a box fan in it and it keeps the room well ventilated and I can adjust the speed if I have to, to get more airflow and get it cooler. You have alot of lights, how big is your room?

Are there any 90 degree bends in your ducting?
I believe this can cut the air flow by 60%

um, there is 1 90 which is where it exits the house at, as the duct I have is flexible insulated duct, even then, it blows pretty hard. There is 1 light at the beginning of each row, where there is just an open fan. This is where the air exits the room and continues through the ventilation system.

The beginning of the row of lights, has an open fan, which sucks air from the room as well as ventilate the lights outside. The room is, 10' wide x 10' long x 10' high. I have about 300 plants. Also, I have attic access in the room, but adding a box fan into the entry would do really nothing, as my room temperature is about 84 degrees. I am only concerned about the temperature directly under the light. As nothing else really gets that hot. Only thing directly under the lights, such as: glass, soil, plants, pots.

Also, I would like to note, apparently, an hour wasn't long enough. As, I just went into the room, it's 103 degrees inside the pot, at soil level. I have a box fan which blows across the plants, and on the opposite side of the room, a circulating fan at plant level which sweeps across the plants. Would also like to add, that my plants don't reach the rim of the pot yet. The lights are about 2' from the rim of the plants.

Ok, thats why I asked, I was hoping you really needed all the lights. I was just thinking too, my closet pulls cold air from my living room so ventilation alone prob wont help much and not with ur prob. Im high so i dunno if i read that right, you say they're not to the rim yet, are they still babies? Maybe raising your lights a little?? I have a 400 watt mh and switchable hps, and I kept the light a good 4 feet away from the rim of the pots and had no temp problems. Some people germ with the florescent lights about that close but they dont put off heat like these.

I took my light up to about 3ft above the rim of the pot.. It dropped the temperature to about 95 degrees
