ive been growin some lr2 and some bagseed under cfl lighting and its been slow goin to say the least. yesterday i found a 1000 watt hps light for a pretty good price and the lr2 plants doubled in size today. unbelievable. my only prob is the heat. im set up in the attic of my barn and temps are around 87 to 88 degrees. is this too hot for the plants? also if any1 around eastern ontario wants a light this size i would trade it for a 400 or 600.

Im currently flowering a short rider in 88 degree temps. lower is better but we can only do what we can do.

They will be ok but check your canopy temps and make sure they do not exceed the temp you stated......just have a fan circulating the air.... they should be alright.....and if no one trades you for your light I would recommend a cool tube or cool hood to get your temps down....

That's a little hot for growing, but will still be okay for vegging. You could flower them at those temps too, if you had no other choice, but it would be a really good idea to get those temps down, at least 5*, or it'll be stressful on them. If you could get your hands on an air-cooled reflector, that would probably be enough to do the trick. And, if you do decide to trade for a smaller light, don't settle for a 400. Go for the 600, it's almost twice as powerful as the 400, and not that far away from the 1000.
