heatsink on hans panel?

I bought myself 2 hans panels they both have the fans on them. Which i would have to say are pretty much pointless. I was wondering if it would be possible to mount a heat sink to them and then reattach the fan to help cool the heat sink. Would I need to prep the panel what kind of paste do i use is this even possible

I would think it to be pointless to do that? What is your objective? I say if it aint broke dont fix it.

If you wanted heatsink FINS why didn't you buy the SILENT version then? the flat back metal plate is the heatsink on the regular versions.

If you want an easy cooling mod improvement ====== swap out the fan for a larger 100/120mm one

My box is only about 28 inches high you need 4 inches of head room or the fans wine I figured I could attach a 1 to 1 1/2 inch thick heat sink do passive cooling and attach it to the ceiling saving a few inches they didn't have passive when I purchased came out a week later nothing I can do now
