Got some STS from twenty20 mendicino, mixed per instructions. Used dawn for a surfactant, I don't have agave nectar sorry. Anyway, applied it to her Sunday, I haven't seen much change aside from that branch showing some stress. I caught her just as her pre flowers were starting and I re- applied tonight. What kind of time frame are we looking at for her to start showing pollen sacks? Not to worried about accidental pollination, if any of the other girls get seeds it'll be an interesting cross breed. The bottom branch is the one treated with STS.

Surprising lack of response. Here we are, it's the 29th and I definitely have pollen pods. So I've seen some that look almost a half inch long, none of mine, yet? Can I expect the large pollen pods or will they stay smaller? I'll get a pic up later.
 
WE GOT SACKS!!! No denying, no guessing. Now I wonder how long do I leave the branch attached? Hey @Budzbuddha any input? Your selfing thread is awesome.

I can't believe this thread is 3 weeks old lol I never seen it... and I thought I was on here a lot. That's awesome tho. I got some Ethos beans I want to try that with If I don't get a male.. but that's not likely. Soon tho. I like doing all the shit that seems difficult, only to find out it wasn't so bad after.

The just of it is you can use sts or cs which are both silver based. This causes a female plant to grow both male and female parts. The pollen from this creation will be feminized. You can use this pollen on another female plant and the seeds will be 99% female.

That's too good bro. Any negatives in doing this? And how much would sts/cs cost for one plant?

That looks like it has some pods forming. Lots of pistils as well. Hopefully it doesn't get stuck in some intersex mode and doesn't produce viable pollen. With a good reversal the plant/branch is going to flower as prolifically as a male from a regular seed.

If you have more solution I'd spray that branch again. A kick towards male couldn't hurt. If you do, do it out of the light and then dry it out for awhile with a fan before putting back under light.

You don't need agave nectar and I never use a surfactant. You don't want anything getting in the way of the silver interacting with the plant surface.

If you intend to do this in the future you should just buy the chemicals. Silver nitrate and sodium thiosulfate. You just mix the 2 in water and then combine them. It's not complicated. Put in a spray bottle and spray.

If this doesn't work out and that's a strain you really want to keep you might want to think about taking a clone off of it and revisiting this endeavor in the future. Just as a backup plan.

My preferred method is to spray one plant and pollinate another. Which is easily achieved by taking a couple of clones.

Agreed on the cloning, but she is an auto, and the last seed I had. I used the surfactant(dawn) because it was beading up when applied.
The sts solution I bought was 25.00us. It says it is supposed to be able to cover a large plant. I've still got plenty left.

Not sure how you saw all that many pistils in those pics but I've got a few sites ready and willing as soon as it's viable.

So im right at three weeks from initial application. How much longer do I leave that branch attached? While I'm not too worried about some loose pollen, I don't want to seed my whole plant. I know a seed takes 6-8 weeks after pollination but pollen maturity, I have no clue about.

I was referring to the pistils on the branch you sprayed. It should be nothing but a cluster of pods.
