Height questions.

Hey, My friends got some random (indoor) seeds . He is growing in a case just over 2ft tall. He was wondering about height. Will the plants grow to be too tall? Can they be clipped down? Etc.

Also, what would you say is the best method to germinate?

As far as germination the good ol paper towel method works fine. Put your seeds in a moist paper towel, place on a plate and cover with another plate. Don't moisten them so much that they are sitting in water drowning, just enough to keep em nice and wet. heres a link for you to take a peek at from Widow Maker, a veteran grower that knows his stuff.

well in this case it really depends on the strain if its a sativa it can grow really tall and lanky i had one almost tall at me n im a about 5'9 theres also indica which grow about the size of ur cabinet n for germination id sayy get a plastic shoping bag a paperplate and 2 pieces of wet papertowel put one piece on the plate the seeds then the other sheet then throw it all in the plastic bag n set it in a dark cool place

Great thanks. Ok as my friend has no idea what the strain of seeds are, Could he sprout them, and then simply trim them when they get too big?

You can't just trim, better to train them. Here is a link to something called LST - there is one guy with severe height restrictions too: GROWFAQ

I find I can get my plants to be whatever size I want, once they hit the desired hight, I move them to flower and then usually only grow an extra few inches after you start flowering. Also, if you have a local hemp shop, ask if they stock "lowryder" seeds, these plants grow to be about 18 inches and makes nice big buds

Ahh just remembered a post that I read a few weeks back about height problems. One guy had a pretty cool idea of putting chicken wire over them to keep em down lol Now I'm not 100% sure if this method is a good one but just thought maybe it would help

Cool, couple more questions if you don't mind.....

My friend has just received some outdoor seeds, Could these be grow inside?

Also on the subject of smell... He has 2 computer fans blowing air in and out of his case, But is wondering how bad the smell will be. His parents dont strictly know hes growing... But they smoke bud , he'd just prefer it if they didnt know.

And lastly, he was told sparkling water could be sprayed onto plants to give them CO2, Does this help?

Outdoor seeds will grow inside, you might have to be ready to do some training as some outdoor strains can get big, but otherwise outdoor just means more resistant to temp changes and bugs, etc.

Smell will get bad. You need to look into a filter for them. Everyone says the co2 works, I think it is worth a try.
