Welcome!

Best advice I can give someone starting out is... Go buy a book, or three... anything by Cervantes, Rosenthal, Frank are all a good place to start. Matter of fact, Cervantes has an awesome "basics" book I picked up about 3 years ago. I've read it cover to cover about 80 times.
Next... Read, read, read... go watch some videos on YouTube, look up Nico Escondido's "Grow Like A Pro" produced by HighTimes, Cervantes also has many videos on YouTube as well.
Last, but certainly not least... soak it up like a sponge. Take in all the information that you can, until it feels like your head will explode, then go read another book and watch more videos... I was reading and watching for almost a year until I felt confident I wouldn't waste my time or money.

Lastly, never forget, advice is worth what you paid for it... if someone suggests you try something and it sounds completely off the wall, maybe it is.

Good Luck, Hope this helps.

Thank you PJ i have already gone thru jorges, seemorebuds and some other random movies i found online. i watched Escondidos movie and im thrilled also currently reading the grow bible. And im always thinking about it and how i can better my setup etc. w/ limited funds .after lots of thought and some work im happy with my setup for now. it consists of a largemartha stewart port. closet that I lined up with panda film,a refrigerator rack,a tower fan,a 12 outlet power strip with 10 23w cfls in y extensions,at first i was having some heat issues but then i jimmy rigged a 20'' square fan on top that sucks air out into my attic with a passive intake temps stay below 80. seems my 2 little girls(i hope) are happy and now i keep thinking about getting a 400w hps for flowering but not sure how to work out the heat....Decisions decisions.
