Hello. Yellow leaves during flowering question

Hello all,

It’s been several years since I have been on this forum (Colorado hadn’t even legalized yet the last time). I created a new account and I’m about a month away from starting a new grow. I have only a handful of grows under my belt so I consider myself a newb.

I have some concerns going into my next grow.

every grow I have ever done has always made a turn for the worse during flowering. By week 5 my flowering plants begin to yellow and continue to throughout the flowering stage. I always try to fix it but end up with dead leaves on the ground and very yellow plants by harvest time.

Ive always used botanicare grow, bloom, cal mag, karma etc. I’ve grown in both soil with a majority of my grows being hempy. I’ve focused on proper PH and followed botanicares “feeding chart” religiously.

Any advice? It always seems like once the yellowing starts I can’t stop it and the entire plant goes yellow and ends up dropping dead leaves. I have no problems with yellowing during the veg stage.

The plant is hungry and nitrogen starved. The plant is very hungry during the first few weeks of the flower stretch. It still wants plenty of N. After the flower stretch is done and buds start forming, then switch to flower nutes. When you switch, if the plant needs more N, it will pull N from the lower fan leaves first. They will turn yellow and fall off. I'm not sure if Botanicare products have all of the micronutrients in them. I've used Botanicare Pure Blend line in the past. I supplemented micros with Cytoplus.

Good luck! Peace:peace:

Ime colouring into week 4/5 is to much feeding.

I'd bet that's your problem feed regimes are notoriously strong, try base nutrients and calmag only if you need it at forum ec recommendations.

^^^like @Star Dog says, if youre feeding too heavily, you can get nutrient uptake problems. It is very helpful to measure your ppm and/or EC on your feed mix.
