Hey guys, this is my first grow and I am having some problems. I have 3 plants... 2 durban poisons and one from a seed a friend had... the 2 DP's were first soiled around 11/11, and the ? seed was soiled around 11/1.
- Light - 400w Metal Halide, 18/6 sched, 20-28" from canopies
- Watering Sched - usually every 3 days or so
- Nutes - was using like 1/4 strength miracle grow with watering
- potted in 1.5 gal with "Sta-green premium container mix with fertilizers" mixed with some perlite.
I noticed some yellowing of the new growth from all 3 plants, pretty much at the same time.. I did the following 3 days ago...
-Flushed the 3 plants with 3x the container volume of tap water that stood out 72 hours. THEN
-Repotted the plants in 3 gal containers, using Fox Farm Happy Frog Organic soil. I didn't rewater because they plants/roots were already pretty wet from flush and the new soil was damp also.. I have a cheap pH/moisture/light meter, and it was 8 on scale of 0-10.
My soil pH currently, according to that meter is around 8... I know it should be 6.5-7. Could this be the problem. It looks (from what i've been reading) like a mineral deficiency probably caused by the increased pH.
The attached pics were taken yesterday 12/16, below are my descriptions from tonight, 12/17.
-The big Durban poison(5+ weeks, the best looking one, on the Left in the 1st pic) looks like it's recovering slightly.. like i said all the new growth was lime green/yellow..now it seems like some green is coming back to those leaves.
-The smaller Durban poison (5+ weeks, the one in the middle of the 1st pic, and the plant featured in 2nd,3rd pic looks about the same. actually the tips of the very yellowed leaves on top are actually browning. .
-The smallest plant from the mystery seed (6+ weeks, on the right in 1st, and featured in the 4th pic) is looking shabby because we attempted to take some clones from it two weeks ago. There are some brown tips on this plant too..but the yellowed leaves appear to have some green coming back in them.
If this is the a pH problem, how do i correct it?
I have ordered some dolomite lime and pH up/pH down from an online supplier, expect to have them in a few days and also Sensi Grow A/B nutes. I got them for future grows but I will have them at my disposal for this grow as well..
Thanks so much for any help you guys can give me... I'm getting worried..happy holidays everyone
