Help Guide Me Into Growing

So I know a grower but he isn't as reliable as Id like.
Long story short I want to get into growing now.

Budget is about $1000-$1500 right now. Plan on doing it in an ~8x8 room. Ive looked at the different methods and I think DWC hydro is where I should start.

I have too many questions and I could google them all but Id rather get everyone's opinions.

How many plants would I be able to grow with this space/budget?

Thanks!

dwc is a difficult place to start
i think it would be simpler to start in soil
the amount of time you veg is going to judge the amount of plants
how many watts do you think youll need ?
i would say atleast 2 600w cooltubes 1000 watter's would be better
how loud can your ventilation system be ? some are quieter than others but may not be able to keep up with demand
im assuming that your wanting odor control ?

Ahh really? Alright Ill have to look into soil more. I plan on going to the grow class at Harborside Health Center to learn more.

I havent looked into lights too much but how much is the price difference between the 600w vs 1000w?

And it is going to need to be somewhat quiet because its in a backyard

i would start soil, get your feet wet and then switch if you want. As far as budget, that would depend on how many plants you want. Personally I would start with a 600w and get quality equipment, 1k-1500 should be enough to get you a quality 600w setup..

dwc or any hydroponics system is going to require that you know what your plant needs and when
checking ph multiple times a day is not uncommon
any deficiency or over fert would have to be addressed almost immediately
requiring you to look at your plant and know what it needs
alot easier to veg in some good soil transplant to a larger container a few weeks before the flip

Rough estimate of how many plants to lights ratio Id need? No worries if not just wondering.

Not sure what you mean, they say 100w per plant so a 600w with a nice reflector should get a decent yield from 6 plants

Alright ya you answered it ahah

Ill probably start off with 2-4 plants. Will I have enough space in the 8ftx8ft space to add more? Thats another thing I was wondering.

Thanks again!

i would use 600w in 3x3 tent. If you want more, add another 3x3 and a 600w. With a 600w in a 8x8 is too big, the lights spread of a 600 isn't big enough I suggest 2 3x3 tents and room to move around... Build shelves for nutes etc.
