HELP!! I need to keep my mother alive!!

Hey all,

I have a current grow journal, but I have a specific question about mothers.. My journal is here... https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/328102-new-aeroflo2-60-grow-started.html

I am taking a couple strains out of my aeroflo2 60 and am going to keep them as mothers.. What is the best way to store them? I have a seperate closet from the room with a t44 (4- 4ft) florescent tubes..

What should I use for medium (perlite, hydroton, etc.) Should I use hydro or soil style growing? What should I use for nutes for optimum health??

IMO you should run simple DWC setup for the mothers in a seperate area, can be where you clone and veg also if enough light is available there. This way with the dwc you can create giant healthy bushes full of cloneable shoots for you to take at will and random. Hope that helps

Mothers should be as low as maintenance as possible. I agree with the DWC. You could run drip mothers as well, but it seems that soil mothers seem to me to be the lowest maintenance. I'll probably catch shit for saying this, but if you know what you're doing, you can keep mothers in miracle grow pre-fertilized soil. If you don't over-water, you'll be fine for quite a while. Just be sure to flush it every 2 months, and don't add fertilizer until you see some Nitrogen deficiency start (burnt leaf tips.) That way you won't nuke em, and they'll bounce back in a day or two.
