help im new

i am wandering how many watts per sqare foot useing (sog) method for only 16-24 inches maxx using a hps.

watts per sq ft idk but 5000 lumens per sq ft is a start

thank you so if i had a 55,000 lumen hps i should be able to get 11 square foot of only 16-24 inch plants and they should grow nice

a 400 watt hps will cover a 12-16 sq ft or a 3x3-4x4 room

thank you and i also would like to know how many plants can you put in a sqare foot if you are sing (sog)

dude use only one plant per square foot bro...i mean for sog you might be able for a 3x3 room to get 9 plants in there.get it.basexwidth and you got your total plants for sog.but with sg make sure oyu can reach both sides of the grow room or its gonna become a bitch to do what you need to do.

hey man no problem at all im still trying to get it down to.but as i said only 1 plant per sq foot well you can easily add more but that depends on other factors...youll find out more as oyu read but the base rule as i said is 1 per sg. ft.

As a new grower I would suggest do not try to get the Motherlode on your first grow. Learn how to grow first. Then once you get the basics, maximize your yields. There are so many variables. I am trying to figure out a method for my situation. My growroom is vertically challenged. My plants can not exceed 30 inches. I have 400watt mh\hps conversion bulb. The grow area where I have light availabe is 3 feet by 4 feet. Now 12 sq feet actually needs more light. (50watts per sq ft) So anything outside of 8 sqare feet is not going to get proper lighting. So my choices are
1. Scrog
2. Sog
3. 4 plants LST with short veg cycle.
Now the pros will probally disagree with me on something!! But those are the choices I am comfortable with. I am not trying for max yields but my goals are 6-8 oz's per harvest. 5 to 6 harvest per year. It can be done.

yeah JIMDANDY a 600 def would help bro.with your height issue out of all the ones ive seen ive been impressed with lst and scrog. on the only case where i was really impressed with sog was when they planted the clones in a 24 ounce bottle cut in half or i think its a 24 and they grew it straight on 12/12.
but they could fit like a million fucking bottles in there and they dont get to tall and you get like a decent yield due to having like seriously in your space a hundred bottles and you could keep the 400 to....jsut a suggestion...ill try to look it up but im not gonna be on much longer tonight

there thats one with the bottles like i said but not the one i was looking for but i ran out of time.lol.
so this should give oyu a good idea and also if yu do a regular plant straight into 12/12 they say you can get to an ounce a plant so that might be whats good for ya.
