Help: I've got 3x 4 month old plants and no setup

Hi,

New to the forum. I had a rather interesting day yesterday which led me here.

So my friend left the country and decided to drop off three plants he had been growing indoors since december 19th. .....thanks bro. :D

He explained how he had them set up so I could better deal with them: </b> They've all been in 24hr light under 2-3 CFLs for most of their life span. However, over the last three weeks they were left pretty much unattended without a light source but were watered very occasionally.

Because of this they have strung out alot and have also started to flower. I have put them back onto a 24hr schedule to bring them back into veg until I have the set up sorted.

They were potted in a slow release nutrient soil of some kind. I have no idea!
Oh also the plants were lopped off for transportation reasons.

Now i've never attempted to grow weed before. But of course I love the stuff and ,don't get me wrong, i'm pretty fucking stoked to have these plants. But I have very little idea of what i'm doing. :)

Below you can see the plants.

From what i've quickly learn't from this great forum I think these are my main problems. :D

  • I have three 4-5 feet plants in tiny pots
  • The plants are completely insufficiently lit
The currenty setup is 1x23w CFL and 1 65W blue &quot;grow&quot; light I found at work (from what i've read, its utter crap).

I work as a landscaper and my boss let me have some 20-20-20 Plant Prod which I have given in a dose of 4ml per litre. 250ml per plant over two days.

Over the weekend I will get myself over to homedepot or walmart and try and get myself some better lighting solutions, a way of boxing the open wardrobe and some larger pots and soil.

In terms of watering i've just been checking the soil and seeing if its dry or not. The pots are pretty much completely full of roots which i'm sure is bad news for the plants.

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly apprecaited. :)

As I understand it HPS is the dogs bollocks when it comes to flowering. Does it matter that the err "k" value/range is lower/warmer so its not so good for veg?

Will having a light set up, which is not ideal for the veg cycle, just going to slow the veg cycle down/give you a smaller plant or will it also effect the buds etc..??

Thank you in advance.

you want a high K value for veg. be advised it will take a while to reveg. A metal halide would be the best option. Also get some fish emulsion from home depot. Add that to ro water and feed a quart a gallon. Also put those in at least some 5 gallon buckets. They got bales of organic soil in the back of home depot for cheap. That is a lot of work to grow them well. After you do this you will want to grow more. you could just flower these under 12 and 12 and low K or a HPS high pressure sodium light. Then get some seeds for 50-100 dollars that are good and reliable gentics. Or you could reveg these and bush them out and take cuttings and then flower these.

ha, this is cfl growing. All right. Get some of the big 6500 cfls with those bulb spilltiers. Try and get at least 20k in lumens on the plant. Get some reflectors too. Lots of diy setups I bet. I am a HID/led grower myself so I can only guess. A t5 in craigs list will probably be cheaper all around. Maybe same price and a lot more power. Or a hid setup on craigs, but maybe a cfl here or there for you too.

Your friend sucks at growing and you will need to do a lot of work to get those plants healthy.

Pics 2-3 are difinitely male but not sure about the others.

Destroy the Males and I would completely cut back the other plants, leaving ony 1-2 nodes for growth under 18/6 hour light. Also, feed them some kind of general nutrient and probably a good idea to repot them with good fresh soil.

It's going to take a while to get those plants looking healthy bro, so good luck!

Thanks for the reply guys. I have been told that all three are hermaphrodites (2x hash plant and 1x dynamite - he might be full of shit). I'll do some research on spotting the difference between the two genders and see if I can figure it out. If they are hermaphrodites should I just try and cut the pollen sacks off or just deal with it?

Yeah, I am aware that the plants are not in the best state. I will do my shop over the weekend and see how the setup looks after that.

In regards to cutting them back. What is meant by leaving 1-2 nodes?
Thanks
