hey ima first time indoor grower.i orderd an htg supply 400 watt mh/hps light w ballast, 40x40x70 grow tent and the 4" inline fan with the carbon or charcoal filter. the light kit was a pkge deal that comes with 12 2g bags, fox farm ocean something soil, basic nutes, one of those " all you need is the seed" deals. im growing for 3 people, me my ol' lady and my friend john. i was wondering if anyone could tell me what type of yield i could expect from a system like this? average, dried weight. gonna be growing clone nebula, and purple haze. possibly one other strain. am wondering how that many plants (9) could grow and produce in such a small area. ive seen the you tube vids, " grow pounds with this system" im doubtful. i am on a very limited budget. $650.00 total. I cant just hang a sheet and get a 600. the tent system is the only possible way i can finally grow my own. please any advice, suggestions, or comment would be most appreciated. Also what would be the best way to grow in such a small area? will the sogor scrog methods work in such a small area? lst? i need a harvest of 4-6 ounces each month or 2. am i expecting too much? ive grown outdoors and have gotten qp's per plant regularly but am a newb indoors. and am having a hard time understanding how im gonna get what im used to growing would fill the tent well before harvest. now i need to get 9 plants in the same space?

Nebula's a good strain and a good yielder. I haven't grown it myself but I've seen plants up close that I'd estimate would have weighed about 3oz trimmed and dry. Top it twice- the first growing shoot and then the two that grow after the first topping. The 400w is on the low end of lights that will adequately illuminate a 40x40 area so if you're able to make it a little smaller you'll get some better bud out of it. You should grow a maximum of four 5gal buckets or 9 smaller diameter pots in a rectangular pattern under a 400w. For optimum yields, work out a separate vegging area so you have plants ready for flowering at every harvest.
