Well, Im new to all of this. Honestly, this is just a new hobby for me... I got a little sprout going right now as my first grow. I used all basic materials with a mid-grade seed. Got good looking soil from outside(good established flower bed with lots of worms and good drainage properties), and I have a desk lamp with that already had a 20wCFL "warm white". It's day two of the grow and I am amazed at how I can check it out every hour it something new has happened! It's a little over 1.5in tall and looks like a happy little plant. It seems happy in the solo cup for now. We will see how this grow goes, but it's my little experiment and it was all free so I cant loose anything. I'll go find a place to plant it if it starts stinking too bad for my apt or gets too big.
Im going to go out and pick up all of the proper growing materials before I do my next grow and do it 100% by the book.
Now, I would like to look into getting into a more exotic strain. I need something that has a minimal or a nondescript odor(it cant smell like dank weed!). I would also like to keep my plants as short as possible. I think Im going to try growing 4 plants in a nice little box. I have been doing quite a bit of reading a browsing, but I cant find a whole lot on what the properties of certain strains are... So, help me pick a beginner friendly, short, non smelly plant!
Also random Q, but how do you know when to start flowering? I have read 3-5weeks of vegging, but is that 3-5 weeks since the seed sprouted?
I cant wait to smoke my own home grown stuff... that concept just blows my mind!
