I want to know how far should a 60 watt regular plant light bulb should be from my seedling??? It has foil paper around to not loose lighting any ideas how close should it be??!

Regular plant light means nothing. CFL, HPS, MH? Which one? I keep my cfls about 4 inches. (200w) per plant

It's not cfl it's like a normal house bulb I know they say u can't grow it with one of these but I did in the past and grew up to 9 inch tall and it died when it was transplanted I'm trying again but I'm just making sure I use the lighting correctly this time as in how close to the seedling it is not a better bulb any help? It's a 60w I put it at 6 inches and it has foil paper to reflect lost light the temp is 80 and I have a fan too the room temp 67 ? What you guys think ?

No need to trash the man people, at one point or another we have all used non grow lights to produce......maybe not a incandescent bulb but we all gotta start somewhere.
First things first, a "regular" bulb also known as a incandescent bulb produces very little "actual watts" and get very very very hot. If you plant on using a regular light then you have to go with either a t5 flourescent (tube lighting) or a Compact Fluorescent Bulb also known as a CFL. Your best bet would be the T5 becasue they are used for growing and can be bought at a local hardware store. They are around 30-60 dollars for the whole setup so if moneys a issue then go with a CFL. Get the highest wattage you can get and try to do at least 4 if thats all your using.
When using the cfls or t5 then you can keep the light 4-6 inches above the seedling. You dont want it to stretch so dont keep it farther away. Those bulbs produce very little heat so you wont have to worry about burning them. Once they start getting bigger i would put two of them about 6 inches above each plant and another 2 about 12 inches above the plant.
DO NOT USE TIN FOIL!!!!!!!!! This is the biggest myth in growing marijuana and it does nothing to better your grow. Tin foil holds in heat and does not distribute light evenly therefore rendering it useless for directing light towards a plant. This is a common thing done by every new grower including myself at one point, use mylar or paint your grow area the flatest white to can get, they reflect wayyy better then foil.
If you have the money the best bet for a novice grower is to go to amazon and search Apollo 400 watt grow light- This light is $120 shipped and comes with everything you need- ballast, hood, mh and hps bulb, hanger for the light and a warranty all for 120. I bought this same lamp a year ago and it still works fine today. Good luck with the grow and let me know if theres anything i can do to help.

Wow, responses like "Do it right or don't do it at all" add nothing to the post but frustration for the OP. I'm new to growing myself and am still determining what my set up will be like, and came to this thread because lighting is a big question for me. Ragging on the OP because he's "doing it wrong" doesn't give us new growers hope that this is a site we can go to for advice. True, we can search for hours on the boards, as I have done, but some of the posts are really old, images are missing, and links are dead. Sometimes asking basic questions is the best way to get info. If you don't feel like answering a question you've answered a dozen times already, just don't answer.
That being said, grtan I thank you for your advice. This is basic stuff, I know, and I've been struggling with how to cost effectively start a grow. Your post does shed some light on ideas for my set up (pun not intended).

Thanks to the last to ppl the other could go and f**** and shove your plants up your asshole that's what you guys are this is to ask question you dumb f**ks do it right or don't do it wtf it's not your seeds you dumb ass I can do whatever the fuck I want so stfu you didn't have to post nothing if you were going to say stupid things that didn't even help WTF stupid ppl these day
