Wow, responses like "Do it right or don't do it at all" add nothing to the post but frustration for the OP. I'm new to growing myself and am still determining what my set up will be like, and came to this thread because lighting is a big question for me. Ragging on the OP because he's "doing it wrong" doesn't give us new growers hope that this is a site we can go to for advice. True, we can search for hours on the boards, as I have done, but some of the posts are really old, images are missing, and links are dead. Sometimes asking basic questions is the best way to get info. If you don't feel like answering a question you've answered a dozen times already, just don't answer.
That being said, grtan I thank you for your advice. This is basic stuff, I know, and I've been struggling with how to cost effectively start a grow. Your post does shed some light on ideas for my set up (pun not intended).
