help needed with grow tent set up please!

im looking at purchasing a 2x2x2 grow tent , i need to know what size intake and exhaust fans ill need. and also what size carbon filter , 4 the vegetative stage ill be using cfl lights and ill be using 600w hps for the flowering stage , also would the size of the fans be the same if i chose to use a cool tube. any help would much appreciated , im having lots of trouble with this if anyone can give me a list for what exactly what is needed for a 2x2x2 grow tent.

Are you sure you want a 600W lamp in such a small space? Why not go for something smaller like T5s?

Exhaust fan calculation:

V/5=fan size

(2x2x2)/5= <2Cfm

I like to use and exchange rate of once every three minutes. This helps account for static pressure and whatnot.
Fan size shouldn't be an issue for you. Even the smallest fan will likely be more than enough.

Back to the 600W lamp though... Using a cool tube, you would need a couple of inches of clearance above the tube. The tube adds 6 more inches - That's roughly 8 inches. A 600W lamp is typically used at a minimum of 18 inches from the plant - A total 26 inches of clearance needed thus far. Now add in pot depth and final plant height... You get the picture.

Even though a cool tube will allow the plant to get much closer to the light, you simply don't have the space in 8 cu ft tent to use that much power.

That said, even at that size, if there isn't much more ducting being used, there shouldn't be any need to get a large fan. A 4 inch inline fan ought to more than serve your needs.
