Help Needed!

this is my first grow and am happy so far...but i've got a couple of buds and leaves that are browning (???) Is this mold or what? What should I do? Humidity has been b/w 70% & 80%. Should i worry about this? I think i have 2 more weeks before harvest. Thanx in advance

Hard to tell for sure by the pic, but it looks like possible budworms. Look in there, you may either see a small caterpillar, or a dead area in the bud with some black stuff and loose chunks of bud if it is budworms

Ive only heard about budworm recently, had pretty much exactly what youve got about a year ago... discarded the affected bud before properly examining it, Im really keen to see what youve got there... I concluded what i had was bud rot... as i said, didnt even know there was such a thing as bud worm.

the brown parts came out real easy so i'm guessing it was a little bud rot and was a relatively small amount. I'm relieved that it wasn't the entire top of that bud.

i'm cursious though, why would my bud rot this early? is this a sign that my bud is ripe? the trichomes are mostly clear. there are a few amber trichomes on the plant, maybe less than 5% of the plant.

Mosture maybe? we had a light sprinkle of rain a few days ago here in Los Angeles.

Still sounds like budworms to me.

no I can tell you right now that looks an awful lot like the start of mold. You'll know for sure just by giving that brown bit a little squeeze, if it just falls apart its mold or bud rot, and thats not good, Given the proper conditions mold can spread rapidly wiping out entire plants in a matter of days or weeks. I live in a place thats very wet with lots of humity, just perfect growing conditions for mold. Ive found over the years that I can only grow plants with great mold resistancy or else my harvest is crap. Im guessing your bud is around the 5th, maybe 6th week of flower, THats when buds start to fill in, get dense, and have lots of areas for water just to rest nestled inside the buds just askin for mold. I would have to bring in all my top colas at only about 5 weeks of flower and then harvest all my lower buds at 7 weeks. If you do spot mold, immediately seperate that bud from the plant and continue to check the plant over and take every last bit of mold that was touchin the plant off, not touching the moldy scissors on other buds. Usualy I just end up cutting off the branch that has the moldy bud, less worry. lol well I like to ramble, Check that shit out on that bud in your pic, I wouldnt want to see that spread anymore if it is mold. i've got some neem oil...is this a pretty good organic way to stop the spread and protect the rest of the plant?

Should i use the recommended amount for a foliar spray with some silica?
