if you need to test for over 2000ppm, you need to get the 98130, thats all there is to it

I just buy any of the hundred generic digital pens of ebay and they work just fine. They've only a 6 month warranty but mines been going uncalibrated for 18 months and still reads 7.0 in a 7.0 solution

I use the Oakton PH2 meter and it works great, no problems in the 6 mos that I've had it. Seems to settle on it's reading faster than most other ph meters I've used.

See you made the thread, now if you could get someone to actually answer your question instead of telling you what they use...

lol i answered right in the start, homebrewer cleared it further. he can get anyone, only that the 9129 measures up to 2000ppm, 9130 measures till 10 ppt(parts per thousand) that is 10000ppm so it would be better for a hydro grower to use the 9129, cuz you cant feed plants at 2000ppm or more.

Hello,

If you want to save money and use a PH pen that work very good for the cheap price; Milwaukee Ph 600. You can get it anywhere around for 20$ (use www.froogle.com) to see most things at the lowest cost.
