Okay so i've got my clone/veg room on 16/8 light and the cloner is just a simple DWC no nutes just Olivia's rooting gel. The plants in the right rooted just fine in the DWC so i transplanted them like normal into the soil however this is the first time i have every used sphagnum peat instead of my normal Miracle grow potting soil. (Menards had this stuff on sale for such a great deal, could not resist). Now here is the problem the leaves are turning yellow from the outside in, at first i thought it was normal as usually my clones turn a little yellow around the edges for a few days but now more are turning yellow and their are now brown spots, i pulled 1 clone out of the soil and stuck it back in the DWC cloner to try and save it. I use plain tap water to start as its Ph is usually just fine for soil but im thinking this might mg a Mg deficiency if its not to acidic. Im not really sure i have read that this sphagnum might be to acidic and that might be a issue. I really don't know, temps are good 75-78 good humidity so i'm not really sure on this one. If it is a Mg deficiency i was thinking Foliar Feed with Epsom salts but don't know a mix ration or anything. Please help

Calibrate PH, water and test runoff. If it is off, flush and feed with NPK fertilizer and some cal mag at 1/2 strenth. Foliar feeding is never a bad idea when the plants are this young and have limited root structure but use EXTREMELY low concentration of nutes for your foliar sprays. Fix it fast and you'll be just fine.

Lol, hmmm can't quite tell, what does it taste like? Just kidding. do yourself a favor and invest in a $40 Ph meter. It will save you countless times.

Can you list the actual product "soil" you bought please. Like was it by Miracle Gro?

The "soil" in the first picture with the 4 small plants looks like it's mostly if not all sphagnum peat moss.

If that is the case then sphagnum peat is very low to non existent on basic neuts and will require you to add them manually. I am to understand sphagnum peat is not a stand alone medium but is typically used as an additive to soil mixtures for loosening and aerating soils, improving water and nutrient retention..

You said you are used to buying Miracle Gro soil (guessing the Potting Mix) which can pretty much take you from veg to flower with very little extra neuts required. If your medium is now mainly sphagnum peat and you haven't been adding neuts to compensate, then each one is imo suffering from somewhat similar neut deficiencies.

Yes those 4 are 100% peat moss, not a big loss the newly transplanted clones were all going to be male as i just saw signs of sex from the parent, with the lack of nutes and off ph'ed water it was a failure from the get go

You need to mix a few things with the peat moss to get good results. Growing in it alone can be difficult. Check THIS out.
I think im going to go back to the MG soil things were working out much better with that stuff, I thought this stuff would be the same as what my family used to use when they ran a greenhouse but that was something different it had vermiculate and other things in it the MG is cheap and available anywhere and works pretty good.

This is how things are looking on the plant in veg i think its because the PH was off....? but im not 100% sure on it. the stem is getting pretty purple as well what do you think the cause of this really is?

Does your DWC have sprayers in them? I built pretty much the same thing just bigger and put misters inside. Works great
