I live on the west coast, and I am dealing with 104 degree weather. Is 90 degrees too hot for the temp of my room? If I CAN NOT get it any lower, will adding c02 into the room help the plants to survive in the excess heat, or am I screwed? The reason I cannot get it any lower is because when I add portable A/C units, they throw the breakers on my house. Please help!!

Plants can grow very healthy in 90-100 degree weather...... they just take forever to grow. A humidifier + fans will lower the temp a decent amount, but if you dont have proper ventilation, a humidifier could be bad. Co2 will help, but it sounds like you have a decent amount of plants, so you'd have to rent or acquire a tank.

However cooling grow rooms all depends on the size of the room, setup, etc...

Thank you for your reply, man. Yeah, Ive got two portable a/cs running right now. Its keeping the temp between 80-96. The outdoor temp usually doesnt get below 90 in the daytime, so, I think Im doing an ok job at keepng the temp down. Now Im just having electrical problem... I keep throwing my breakers, bcs I have too much going on.. Man, this never gets easy, does it?

sometimes breakers go bad and need to be replaced. or you can have a qelectrician look at upgrading the circuit to a 30 amp breaker, assuming you're on a 15 amp breaker now.

nah, Ive got the cfl with 6 lights running now hooked up to a 50, with 3 inline fans.. no, 4. the fans take about 2 amps a piece, so, its overloading the 50 amp circuit. I need to install a 50 amp circuit for the cfl so I can go up to 8 lights for flowering, then run the a/cs and crap off the fifty in the garage. doing that today, hopefully.. What do you think?

OK, so, Ive got it all dialed now. There is a 50 amp breaker going off the main into the sub panel in the garage. I have all the lights and inline fans and a/cs running and working, BUT, now I'm dealing with 100+ degree days for about another week, and then it will dip into the 80-90's. Thing is, my plants are getting very VERY hot. So, Im thinking about watering twice a day instead of just once, or, really as they need it, but since Im at 12/12, I can't get in there for half of the day since its night time for them... So, here are my actual questions...

1. Would it be ok if I went in there during the 12 OFF hours, lets say, 1-2 hours after the lights turn off, and turn on a shop light with a 40-60 watt bulb and water, or even to turn on 1 of the regular lights, or should I just make it a point to get in there while it is in the day cycle, and avoid ANY light during the 12 off hours.

2. If it isnt ok, can I get a colored bulb? OR, can I just go in at the end of the 12 hours, right before they turn off, and go a little over? Like, lets say I go over and they're on for an extra 30-45 minutes? Would that hurt the flowering stage?

Im just very apprehensive to disturb them while they are in the flowering stage, but, I dont want them to dry out from the heat, or even worse, have a effed up harvest. I need to water more.

Oh, and one more question, I am following very strict directions as far as nutes go, and right now, my reservoir is LOADED with nutes. Would it affect the plants negatively if I watered more than the usual once per day? I mean, because of the nutes?

Thing is, I only watered once a day, but liberally, and by the time I got back in the next time to water, the soil would be damp, but not TOTALLY dry. Now, with these extra hot days, the soil is BONE dry and some of my guys are droopy and dry even.. Like, brittle leaves dry. Very bad. Anyway, about the only remedy I could come up with is water more, but Im worried about the lighting thing, cause, I dont want to eff them up. Anyway, any suggestions would be much appreciated, and if anyone wants more calrification, just ask!! Thanks in advance to everyone that has and will help!!

if the plants are too hot, the heat alone will hurt them no matter how much you water them.

that said, if you use a low wattage green colored light and only go into the room near the end or beginning of the cycle you should be ok

again, thank you rat.. So, I can just go to home depot and get a green 40 watt bulb to fit in my shop light?
