Help with Aeroponics question

HI everyone. Welll I havent started my first grow yet I have most the equipent I need but still need a few more things. I posted earlier on the equipment I already have in a few threads back. Well Im reading everything and trying to do all the research with out being a pest. But Ive tried everyway to form a question here and on Google and cant find it. OK here is the unit I will be useing.




Ive tried find out what Nutriants I should use in this system. Since it uses fine mist nozzles they will plug easy Im thinking. Now I am new at this and havent grown indoors before and last time I grew outdoors was back in the 70s lol. So be kind to this old Vet. Does anyone have any recomendations on what to use for this system or tell me where to look......Ive read all the lables and stuff but nothing about any solids that might be in it. Also I read somewhere you need to water off sometimes to give roots a breather. Im thinking maybe this is for DW or bubbleponics.......cause you are just misting the roots with this and have the troughs angled slightlywhere water flows back in to resovior and not sit in the tubes.....so do I still need to turn water on and off and if so how long and when....ok I think I have everything else coverted lights vents air and all will be useing a 4 x 4 x 6 grow tent set over a bathtub in a bathrooom we dont use ever and that way hook up RO to shower head to water with and have drain in bottom of resovoir so less hassle refill tub as needed when flush and normal water and nuit refills. Hope not being to be a pest being new here......but I really tried to locate info and was just typeing it wrong way to ask in search I guess....anyways ALL HELP Appreciated

If you dont ask youll never know, im sure others here will vouch for the fact its the noobs that come and ask questions like " i have a plant under a light, how much will it yield?" that are the annoying ones, youve obviously done your research and would like some info from someone who has experience so bravo....

To answer some of your concerns......

for your pump & mister heads, prior to the pvc piping, you should place a small inline filter, these are available from aquarium shops etc for $1-$2, you need to clean and check filter daily to maintain the cleanliness of the system and the flow rate through the filter however, this will prevent your mister heads from clogging, id even consider another inline filter on the pump intake as your return to res is just from the pipes, it could dump root debris etc in your res and then your pump suck it up. As for Nutes, i personally use Cyco Platinum Series Nutes, Canna is also solid along with house & gardens range, if you flush your plants intermitantly with fresh water your adjusting the ppm, it will definately effect the growth pattern & cycle of the plant, so keep to the feed schedule of whatever nutes you use. The only time you will flush is last 2 weeks of flowering cycle so the plant uses up all the remainder nutes within. Otherwise Welcome to RIU, hope you enjoy the stay...... Peace

Thanks so much for help g0dl1ke. I did say it wrong I meant to change as my feeding scheduale states and flush the last two weeks.....my bad for not saying it right....thanks for the help

Anytime Pony, again man welcome..........make sure you keep a journal of your grow, ill definately sub to the journal, im hell keen to see your system at work and what it can produce...

You need to turn the mist off to slow the roots to take the nutes. Like 1 min on 4 min off. Use a solenoid valve too so you won't have to turn pump on and off
