Help with choosing reflector ballast combo.

There are alot of options since i grown last and im having a hard time deciding what to use. I keep seeing used old raptors, blockbusters, xxxl, daystars, and radiants reflectors for sale for cheap 80-100 a reflector. Also I keep seeing used lumatek 1000watt LK1000 digital and magnetic ballasts for around 100 a ballast. I know alot of new products have entered the market. Is it just better to run old school equipment or to just buy all the new stuff. Are the difference in yields that big?
My goal is to run 1000watt for vegg and 2k watts for flower. I typically start with vegging under a 1000watt reflector and depending on strain I either lst or do uncle Ben's topping technique, if I do uncle bens I normally transition to vertical bare bulb once plants reach the reflector. Are the new HID reflectors and ballast that more efficient and run cooler then the old school? Am i gonna see a big increase in yield if I spend the money and buy the newest best equipment? I know gavitas are good but are more suitable for commercial grows. Im shooting for a gram per watt im using soil with either advance nutrients or botincare. For bulbs using Eye hortilux Im not worried about cost as much as Im worried about yield. Anyone have any suggestions on the best reflector ballast combo? Also iver read through forum about reflectors, ballasts, double ended bulbs etc and im still having a hard time deciding

I am a hps guy and I used to only run phantoms and blockbusters. I had a ton of amazing rounds running single ended hps and it took forever to start switching over to de Gravita’s. I have noticed a increase under the de gravitas but they are hot and need high ceilings. If you are able to manage the heat you can get still do fine with lower ceilings.

I still have eight vented blockbusters running now and that room throws down huge rounds. I just can’t manage the heat so I haven’t switched it over.

If heat isn’t an issue I would get the double ended gravitas. They can be had on the cheap on Craigslist.
