Hi, i have recently started to grow just out of curiosity. I have about 15 bag seeds i have saved from the best strains i have bought. I germinated in a wet paper towl in a tupperware container for 4 days and most of the roots came out.
I used a cardboard box with the inside covered with tinfoil, and i am planting in plastic containers in about 4 inches of soil. My lights are regular desk lamps, but i bought 150 watt bulbs for them.
First i had them in an outdoor storage closet. One of the plants sprouted quickly, but died right away, I live in Florida and think it may be the heat(gets to about 90-95), the soil dries out to almost flakes every 6 hours.
I recently moved the box inside with a fan, but it still feels hot in the box. Do you think that the tinfoil may be causing this because i have heard both positive and negative effects from this. Also could it be the bulbs generating too much heat? Is there a way to effectively grow without changing much, or spending too much cash? Thank you for any help/tips!
