how much light is it getting? there is some fluctuation. normal is 18/6. flowering is 12/12. so then you have about 2 safe hours of play there. probably even 4 hours of available light difference there that wont put it into flowering. ive never tested it but thats my guess. so use my answer as a back up haha.

i once planted some plants on the edge of a bush, but they didnt get much light and i ended up getting only about 5 grams per plant, i was only 17 of course and just planted them there, never really went there to check on them for fear of being busted. just wanted to grow some weed.

Anything shorter than 12 hours of darkness will not set off flowering. It takes about two weeks of 12 hours or more of darkness for the hormone to start flowering to fully kick into action.

As long as your nights are shorter than 12 hours your plants will not flower just because they are not getting full sunlight during the day.

Plants outside don’t ever get a full day of direct sunlight because the sun starts low and then rises and then sets low so for some hours of the day plants are getting very indirect rays of sunlight and then there are always days of heavy clouds and often times some period of time during each day where a tree or trees or a bush or bushes or a house will shade them.

yeah thats right, im always worried becasue sometimes ill turn my lights off an hour or so after im supposed to, (i dont have a timer) but i guess eh, the summer day is all crasy and chit. that gets me thinking then that a controlled indoor grow with proper lights and direct light all day would be much better. as long as you had sufficient light to match the sun.
