hello this is my first grow and i am haveing some problem with my hempy ...
3g hempy bucket all perlite
8 23w cfl 6500k
2x2 grow room
GH Floranova Grow 1 part( like mud lol)
50-60 rh
77-85 degrees
ok now i am haveing some def and twisting of leaves ...here are pics
2012-08-15 11.10.35.jpg2012-08-15 11.12.16.jpg2012-08-15 11.12.35.jpg2012-08-15 11.12.53.jpg2012-08-15 11.13.48.jpg2012-08-15 11.14.02.jpg2012-08-15 11.14.16.jpg2012-08-15 11.14.33.jpg
the top growth is twisting side ways and a couple lower leaves ..also the middle leaves are folding up like praying ..and some marks on lower leaves..
ok from what i read i think its a mag def with the marks on lower leaves and praying leaves ..so i added calmag..how long does it take to fix it self when the def is corrected? i know the marks wont repair but the folding leaves up should right?
also the twisting is ph i bealive.. My PROBLEM is if i pour in 500ppm @5.8ph my run off is 180ppm @ 6.8ph ..why is that ? im stomped i tryied everything and it wont go down ..ii waited till it was dry dry like 3 to 4 days and them fed and it still happens..now i read alot about this and ppl say dont worry bout run off but if the res is 6.8 and the plant drinks from that ..isnt that a problem? also tried feed water feed ...now even when i water plan RO water with 5.8ph it still comes out like 6.5 ph ...lol i though hempy was simple lol well if any one has any insight please help i dont get it ...

if thats a spot above the tip then yes a def, but sometimes the leaves will be affected like this by wresting on the perlite but this is only if one or two lower fan leaves have and the others dont

I am also running in Hempy Buckets for the first time, and I have not checked the runoff at all and I am 3 weeks into flower. I just worry about what is going in them. I also don't think those plants are old enough to worry about runoff cause the medium still has to be pretty new.

I also feed every time, you just have to be careful not to over do it on the nutes. Your plant is looking a dark, but I dont think its too dark, so just make sure your feed is in the Correct PH Range. I vary my PH a little with every feed. I do one at 5.8, then 6.1, then 5.9, then 6.0 and just bounce around a little but dont go over 6.2 or under 5.8.

The leaf deficiency does look like Mag.. I also tried to get away without CalMag this time, but the same thing happened,, Yellowing in between the veins, so I added a 1/4 to 1/2 dose calmag and it did not persist from that point..

Your twisting may just be the Strain, but yes, PH could be the issue as well.. Be sure your PH Pen is accurate and just worry about what your putting in at this point (correct PPMs and PH)..

Have her roots hit the res yet? She looks like she may be close if she hasn't already.

I am using 3 Gallon buckets as well, and I flushed once with just a half gallon per bucket,, You are still thinking like a dirt grower :) You can flush as much as you want, but you dont need to overdo it,, its perlite and not dirt, so its easier to flush. If you do flush, just flush and leave it until the next feed day, then just feed them a regular mix. Since summer has arrived, the heat has been on the high side, so I have been watering the Flowering Girls daily, and the Veg Girls every other day, to every 2 days, depending on the heat. I was afraid to water often like this, cause I was also thinking like a dirt grower, but as long as you are able to tip the bucket over a bit and not get water out of it, then its about time to water, and I have yet to have an over watering problem, so I dont even think it matters, as long as the nutes and water are fresh. Even though its a lot more watering than I was expecting, it will come in handy when you need to change something,, For example, if you decide they need more nutrients, you don't have to wait for the soil to dry out in order to bump up their feed,, or Bring their feed down should that be the case.

You can also check out my grow journal for my first hempy grow here - https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/535354-my-first-hempy-bucket-grow.html -- I started from seed,, Took my first clones, and the whole nine yards.

I try to list my PPM feedings and PH just about every time I post, so that might help you a little. Not to say mine was perfect, but so far they are certainly growing like a Hydro run and for the first time ever, not one Purple Stem :-P

Good Luck and Hempy Growing!!

thanks u ..i read most of ur jornal and u posted alot of good info ..i hate reading jornals that leave questions ..u wrote ppm @ wat conversion and ph and when u added ...awsome..but i had another question maybe u can help me with ...if lucas is 8-16 and 5-10 for low lighting like cfl ...i have floranva grow ...he says use 8ml of bloom ..also read he said he tried 8 ml of grow for veg and it worked good (wish i can find the page its in ask lucas)...so what about if u use low lighting for the 2 part grow and bloom ...shoud i do 6ml cause of cfl ? or i think im bout to just not buy the bloom(only bout grow cause didint need bloom yet) and just buy the 3 part like u and just do the 5-10 (its not as muddy as the 1 part also SMH lol) what do u think ..or should i just follow ur ppm(in the area of urs) and do from there ...last week i gave them 350ppm and then watered 3 days later when dry ..yesterday gave them 2ml of grow and 3 ml of cal mag so 550 or so ...or should i just let that dry up and hit it with 550 again in 3 days ..( i knw im in all types of dirrections lol) i hate being knew to stuff lol plus how to i + rep

Yes, you are all over the place,, You need to find a path and stick to it. The Lucas formula consists of two parts the GH Micro and Bloom (not the Grow). I started out under CFLs for Veg so I used the 5-10 of Micro and Bloom, but keep in mind that this is considered FULL STRENGTH, so when you start out slow, you will mix 1/4 to 1/2 of this and work you way up to 5-10 over a 3-4 week period. Also keep in mind that you will probably need a bit of CalMag as I did, or deficiencies will follow,, This all being for RO Water of course.

I was amazed at how well my girls took to higher PPM's from seed. I could never get clones up very high at all.

Anyway, dont overdo it with the nutes and get on a schedule so you work your way up to FULL Strength, and then maintain that. If they look like they are needing more (light colored leaves, deficiencies, etc) then you can go up from there, but always keep it a 1-2 ratio for the Micro and Bloom.

With my new clones and the clone I put in flower, I have switched to the formula on the bottle, but not using it at full strength until I feel comfortable doing so. Just keep a close eye on your plants, and if they look like they need food, bump them up, but if not, leave them and see what they do,, Less is more in this case.

There is a Little Black Star Icon at the bottom of your post that lets you rep someone.

Good luck and keep us posted.
