What kind of compost medium is it? did you flush the compost with ph water before you planted them? I used a similar compost when i started but later found out that the compost I was using was highly acidic. i would recommend flushing them with ph water and feeding them straight ph water for a week to get all the excess nutrients out and the ph leveled out, once you do that, you can start giving them nutrients again, quarter to half strength, just work your way up so you don't burn them. you don't need much. they don't look too bad...

ph water, meaning perfectly ph balanced water. tap water is fine, but you should let it sit, if possible 24 hours to let the clorine evaporate. you need to purchase a ph checker or you can go the cheaper route and buy dip sticks that check the ph... you can find them at your local grow shop or online. you want your ph in your water to be neutral around 7.0.
you can also use distilled water, that usually has a ph of 7.0 too but it can get expensive over time.

if your looking to grow decent product, i suggest you hit the books to find out some more info on growing, little things like ph make a huge difference when growing and it will give you more insite on what your actually getting yourself in to... it's a lot of work but the outcome is usually worth it.

Possibly a tad too much nutes, or simply a low light situation, and the plant shedding it's lowest leaves which aren't doing anything except wasting the plants energy. Looks more like overfert though. Also looks like some of the leaves have been damaged in another way, like being burnt by the light bulb, constant brushing up against a wall, etc... at some point? I could be wrong, but some look that way.
