hi people i need help with a light!

ok,
hello all, Ive been growing with a 400w hps for the better part of 6years and until now have had no problems with it but yesterday the light stops working and an odd high pitched sound is coming for the ballast!
Im unsure as to wether this means the bulb is blown or the ballast/capacitator is shagged!
Anyone in the know who could help would be greatly appreciated.

ps. ive got a new bulb/lamp on the way on monday!

you can tell if the light is out how old is your bulb you need to replace about every 1 yr some say 6 mo. if it is having trouble kicking on its the capacitor man get a replacement. see ya good luck
