Starting your mama in the closet isnt a bad idea, and you could maybe do a bonzai ma, and that way its not too obtrusive and wont require too much lighting..
Ifit was me doin this, thats what i'd do, grow your girls out for clones in the closet, and then stick the clones in the basement.
