High output t5 or cfl

Hello, I'm pretty new at growing. I have had a couple successful small outdoor grows. But now I have to go indoors. And I am wondering would a high out t5 produce better buds then cfl's? I don't have the ability to grow with hid's. electricity is super expensive out on the island. Plus the all the equipment isn't cheap either. Thanks for any help regard high output t5 vs cfl's.

Fluos will do better than CFLs, yup

You're not planning on supplying the entire island are you, surfer?
You would be surprised how nice of a little grow you can do with some 6500K/ 2700K CFL's.
It sounds like you want don't want to invest a lot into your first indoor grow, I think you should research CFL some more and you will really like what you see.

Can you use a 150watt HPS? They are cheap to buy and to run. I turned out a QP on one plant using a 150w HPS and 4 23w CFL's. I never noticed even the slightest increase in my electric bill. I used a Floralux mini-compact that I purchased from HTG for $60. They are known to give deals to compensate for shipping.

I have been growing with HO T5 for a year now and they perform great. Watt per watt HO T5 out performs CFL. I have been pulling 1-2 oz per plant in a small closet grow.

T5 HO are good, T5 VHO are great and CFL's are ok. HO will be a better choice than CFL's. Larger footprint, better penetration and higher lumens.

VHO T5 rocks but finding the fixtures and bulbs is harder and the price of bulbs is higher. With the need to replace bulbs about every 3rd grow I dont see VHO being as cost effective at least for me.

I've been using T5 HO's for yrs and have a decent grow every time, they come with 6500K lamps for veg, then buy 2700K or 3000K ( for some reason never came across 2700K's ) lamps for bloom I would pesonally suggest it, low heat and low electricity 2' 4 bulbs only use 54Watts and have an output of 8000 lumens, it's well worth it.
